Terms and Conditions:

Course Venue:
Courses can be conducted at St John Headquarters, Jurong Centre, or at specified premises of the client, e.g. factories, hotels, offices or other places of work.

Eligibility of enrolment for the Occupational First Aid Course (Regulated by Workplace Safety and Health Council, Ministry Of Manpower)
Assumed skills and knowledge:
ESS Workplace literacy and numeracy level 5 and above.

Intake Capacity:
There shall be a minimum of 20 participants, up to a maximum of 25 per intake.

At the request of a client to start a class, the client shall write-in (using the company letter head) to SJAA that they are willing to pay the minimum charge of 20 participants if the class size is less than the minimum number. Besides that, the client has to provide the following details to SJAA before accepting the request:

  3. Person In-charge:
  4. Contact Number and Email Address:

SJAA is not obliged to allocate lecturer beforehand.

Acceptance of a course application shall be subject to class availability and on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Sessions:
Each course is conducted in 3-hour sessions with a break during the days or evenings. Longer sessions are generally discouraged but may be granted, subject to a review of all participants' qualifications.

Day classes are conducted during office hours. Other time options may be arranged.

Medical Condition:
Participants have to be medically fit for the course. Those participants with some medical problems, such as bronchial asthma, any upper respiratory track infection, orthopedic problems (e.g. slipped disc), are encouraged to consult their own doctors before attending the course. Pregnant ladies are advised to defer taking the course to at least 6 weeks after delivery.

Payment:
All course fees are subject to 7% GST (GST Reg. No.: M90361968Y).

Payment of course fee shall be made at least two weeks prior to acceptance. In case of cheque payment, it shall be made payable to St. John Ambulance Association.

NB: SDF claimant shall pay the net course fee only

Course fee refund:
A refund of 50% of course fee may be considered, provided a written notice of withdrawal is received 14 days or more prior to course commencement. A deferment of course date, or replacement with a new participant, may be allowed, provided a written notice is received not less than 7 days prior to course commencement with full particulars of the new participant, where applicable.

Medium of Instruction:
Courses are conducted either in English or Mandarin.

Lecturers and Instructors:
Courses are led by St. John Ambulance-registered lecturers and instructors.

Materials Price per unit:

English Manual (9th edition available) - $35.00 (Inclusive of GST)

Examinations:
Each participant is required to have a minimum of 80% attendance, failing which he/she shall not be allowed to sit for both the written and practical examinations. Those who fail or miss the examination may write in with valid reasons to apply for a re-sit on payment of a fee:

  1. First Aid re-test $10.70 (inclusive GST);
  2. CPR+AED (under the OFAC) re-test $21.40 (inclusive GST).

Certification:
A first-aid certificate (valid for 3 years) and BCLS / CPR+AED certificate (valid for 2 years) shall be issued to each and every successful candidate.

Course participants are required to provide correct personal particulars upon enrolling for the course. If these particulars are incorrect and a replacement certificate is required, then a replacement fee of $10.70 (inclusive GST) shall be levied.

Parking:

Participants are advised to use public transport or park their vehicles at nearby public car parks. The St John Headquarters parking lots are primarily meant for season parking holders.
