Procedures for the Registration of External Courses

SANA Course & Civil Defence Courses

Pre-Requisite

 

In accordance to the organising agency (SANA & SCDF), the pre-requisites for applying to participate in the following courses are as follow:

 

a)    SANA Course             Secondary 1 to 3

b)    Civil Defence              Secondary 2 and 3

 

 

Course Dates

 

SANA and SCDF have organised a ONE day course for students in SJAB to gain knowledge in Anti-Drug Abuse and Civil Defence, as part of the Cadet proficiency Badge Scheme.

 

The following are the course dates scheduled for SJAB in 2010, and vacancies for each slot are provided by the respective organising agency:

Application Procedures

 

1.   Schools who would like to register for the course will register online via the CPB website.  Upon online registration, the officer / teacher who registered will submit the following to the respective Zone CPB Officers:

 

a)  Namelist containing NRIC, Full-Name and School (in Microsoft Excel Format, available for download from CPBS website)

 

b)  The namelist must be submitted two weeks from the date of the online registration (revised information)

 

c)   For schools who register much later, the date to submit the namelist will be indicated clearly in the email sent to the teacher / officer making the booking and copy to the Zone CPB Officer / Coordinator, and in the booking information website.  Schools are to adhere to the dates given. (new information)

 

d)   For late registration, the latest date for schools to submit namelist will be ONE WEEK before the commencement of the course.

 

 

2.   Registration will be opened 3 months prior to the start of the course (ie. Schools can start applying in December 2008 for the course in March 2009).  Registration will close two weeks before the course commences.

 

3.   Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.

  

4.   School must make payment for the course ($4.00 for SANA course only) within (3) three weeks from the date of online registration.

 

      a) For schools who register much later, the date to submit payment of course fee will be indicated clearly in the email sent to the
    teacher / officer making the booking and copy to the Zone CPB Officer / Coordinator, and in the booking information website.

       b) For late registration, the latest date for schools to submit payment will be ONE WEEK before the commencement of the course.

 

5.   Upon receiving the registration, the school and the corresponding zone will be informed via email that the registration has been confirmed, and the deadline to make the payment.

 

6.   Please make the cheque payable to “St John Ambulance Singapore” and send it to the following address and addressee:

Please indicate at the back of the cheque, the name of the course and the date of the course registered (ie. “SANA Course, 19 March 2009”).

 

7.   Should the school require receipt (for reimbursement purposes), please include a self-addressed (with stamp) envelope.

 

8.   Upon receiving the payment, the school and the corresponding zone will receive the email to confirm the receipt of the payment.  Schools can also check the status of the payment through the booking information in the CPB website. (new information)

 

9.   No refund will be made in any case for the payment of course, including participants who register and paid for the course, but absent on the day of the course.

 

10. Unless there is/are valid reason(s) provided by the school, there should be no change of date or cancellation allowed after registration confirmed and payment made.  Change of date is subject to vacancies available.

 

11. Schools that did not make payment within 3 weeks from the date of registration will have their registration revoked.  The slot   will be re-opened for other schools to register.

 

12. Schools who wish to cancel their course two weeks before the start of the course will not have their payment refund.

 

13. Schools must confirm the namelist and the number of cadets participating in the course at the time of payment.  There should not be any changes after that.

 

For Civil Defence Course, namelist must be confirmed 2 weeks before the start of the course.  There should not be any changes after that.

 

14. Teachers-in-charge and officers are encourage to check against their school & CCA calendar before making any registration, to avoid any inconveniences.
