Badger Unit
Our St. John Ambulance Badger Unit aims to provide a friendly, safe and
relaxed environment, in which badgers can both learn and have fun while gaining
a sense of achievement through everything they do.
This CCA aspires to stimulate the interest of our members in the concept
and aims of St John Ambulance at a very young age through their participation
in wide varieties of activities, including basic first aid.
Besides that, we aim to inculcate the values of school, to become
passionate learners by nurturing and inspiring the badgers to learn and
contribute to the society in their individual capacity.
The Badgers will meet once a week with the teacher-officer in school.
They will follow a course in ˇ°Absolutely Everythingˇ±, comprising 9 badgers,
each divided into 4 main topics. For each badge that is completed, a Badger is
awarded a colourful button and certificate.
The weekly sessions are not only educational, but are fun-filled with
interesting and fun activities involving games and sports. Badgers will be
trained in basic first aid, learn footdrill as well
as simple evacuation procedures. They will also attend First Aid and Teambuilding workshops. Our badgers will get a chance to participate
in the National Badgers First Aid Competition organized by the St John
Ambulance HQ too. Important values
such as teamwork, independence and initiative will also be inculcated in the
Badgers in order for them to be inspired to help others and to contribute to
the community.
